GoAir, India's budget airline is reportedly set to grow its international footprint from July 19 onward, by starting flights to seven new international routes.
As per trusted sources, GoAir will be commencing daily flights to Bangkok, Muscat, and Abu Dhabi from Mumbai and Delhi. Flights from Kannur to Dubai and back, as well as to Kuwait and back will also be operational.
Of the seven new routes, Dubai, Kuwait, and Bangkok are new markets for GoAir while other routes are already on the airline's network although from different cities in India. The commercial airline already flies from Kannur to Abu Dhabi and Muscat, and has seasonal flights to Maldives and Phuket from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
GoAir has reportedly flown more than 72 million passengers since its origination, and in the next two years, the airline is aiming to touch the 100 million passengers milestone.
Jeh Wadia, MD of GoAir, said in a statement that he is extremely pleased to publicize these strategic launches which will reinforce GoAir's status in the South East Asian and Middle East nations. The network extension is in tandem with the airline’s vision to grow its footprint in strategic markets and to enhance business profitably. This time the company is entering new destinations namely Dubai, Kuwait, and Bangkok and the airline intends to continue this impetus over the upcoming years, added Wadia.
For the record, GoAir functions as a low-cost carrier model that stresses on operational efficiency, cost leadership, and reliability. It runs the Airbus A320s plane and flies to numerous domestic destinations including Bagdogra, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Goa, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kolkata, Kochi, Kannur, Lucknow, Leh, Mumbai, Patna, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, Pune, and Srinagar, reported sources.
