Wipro Consumer Care Ventures to fund DSG Consumer Partners IV

Wipro Consumer Care–Ventures, the venture funding division of Wipro Care & Lighting, has recently announced that it is investing in a Singapore-based VC fund - DSG Consumer Partners IV.

DSG, since its commencement, has been focusing on the Asian consumer segment with this investment in Southeast Asia as well as India.

Wipro Consumer Care – Ventures fund was started with the aim of investing in startups precisely in India and Southeast Asia in 2019. Till date, it has invested in seven major companies in India, including Happily Unmarried, Soulflower, LetsShave, OneLife Nutraceuticals, MyGlamm, PowerGummies, and T.A.C.-The Ayurveda Co.

Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting CEO – Mr. Vineet Agrawal said this is the firm’s first investment from Wipro Consumer Care – Ventures and is also the first time the firm has invested in a fund as LP (Limited Partner).

Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting holds a strong foothold in Southeast Asia, and the firm would be supporting startups in the region.

While adding to this, Wipro Consumer Care – Ventures’ Managing Partner – Mr. Sumit Keshan said that the firm is extremely excited to announce two investments this week.

He mentioned that T.A.C- The Ayurveda Company is a promising startup in the segment of Ayurveda with niche offerings for consumers. The firm is looking forward to suitable and exciting times in the FMCG sector with some innovations and unique business models evolving among startups.

Additionally, the firm also supports these startups by sharing its deep operational knowledge and experience in scaling businesses.

Wipro’s Consumer Care business comprises personal wash products, facial care products, toiletries, home care products, electrical wire devices, wellness products, Domestic and Commercial Lighting and seating solutions. It also holds a strong brand existence across several segments in the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia.
